The Richard Mille RM 61-01 Yohan Blake Monochrome is a hyper-modern take on one of the brand’s most athletic timepieces. Released in a limited edition of just 50 pieces, this ultra-exclusive model refines the silhouette of the RM 61-01 with a monochromatic aesthetic and advanced case materials built for pure performance.
The asymmetric case design—measuring 50.23mm x 42.70mm—is crafted from ceramic, offering extreme lightness, rigidity, and shock resistance. These cutting-edge materials are not only highly durable but visually captivating, featuring unique striations created by layering hundreds of silica and carbon fiber sheets. The left side of the case is subtly curved to prevent wrist drag during high-speed motion, a nod to the watch’s sprinting heritage.
This special edition was developed in collaboration with Jamaican sprinter Yohan Blake, one of the fastest men in history. The dial retains the RM 61-01’s skeletonized architecture, revealing the manual-winding Caliber RMUL2 movement in grade 5 titanium. Engineered to withstand shocks of up to 5,000 Gs, the movement is treated with a black PVD coating and finished with hand-applied anglage and microblasting for a stealthy, technical look.
Luminous white accents on the hour and minute hands, along with a running seconds indicator at 6 o’clock, provide clarity without cluttering the openworked layout. The caseback offers a view into the movement’s beautifully executed structure, underscoring Richard Mille’s commitment to both durability and design excellence.
The watch is paired with a rubber strap and secured by a titanium deployant buckle, continuing the monochrome theme while ensuring comfort and breathability in all conditions.
