The Richard Mille RM 011 Flyback Chronograph Red Quartz TPT is an unmistakable expression of technical excellence and bold design, housed in one of the brand’s most iconic silhouettes. Originally inspired by Formula 1 and developed in collaboration with racing legend Felipe Massa, the RM 011 series has become synonymous with high-performance watchmaking. This edition elevates the design further with an ultra-lightweight, ultra-strong Red Quartz TPT case—a material rarely used outside of aerospace and elite engineering applications.
The case, measuring 50mm x 40mm, is constructed from layers of silica thread—each just 45 microns thick—impregnated with red resin and subjected to high heat and pressure. The result is a visually arresting red striated appearance that’s unique to each piece, making every RM 011 in Red Quartz TPT inherently one-of-a-kind. It’s not just visual—this material is highly resistant to temperature variations, shock, and wear, making it ideal for demanding environments.
Inside the case is the skeletonized RMAC1 automatic movement, offering a flyback chronograph, 60-minute countdown timer, 12-hour totalizer, and an oversized date display at 12 o’clock. The month is indicated between 4 and 5 o’clock. The rotor features variable geometry, adapting winding efficiency to the activity level of the wearer—an innovation unique to Richard Mille.
The dial is openworked, showcasing the architectural beauty of the movement and its grade 5 titanium components. Luminous Arabic numerals and red accents echo the external color scheme, while the chronograph pushers are ergonomically integrated into the crown guards for ease of use and visual cohesion.
