The Rolex GMT-Master II 16713 is a bold and highly recognizable take on the classic GMT travel watch, crafted in a striking two-tone combination of stainless steel and 18k yellow gold. Often referred to by collectors as a “Rolesor” GMT, this discontinued reference blends the durability of steel with the prestige of gold, capturing the essence of Rolex’s approach to rugged elegance.
Measuring 40mm, the Oyster case features polished flanks and brushed lugs, with an 18k yellow gold bezel fitted with a black Cerachrom ceramic insert—a major update introduced with this generation. The ceramic bezel is not only virtually scratchproof and fade-resistant, but also engraved with a 24-hour gold-filled scale for use with the second time zone functionality. The watch’s Triplock screw-down crown and Oyster case construction ensure water resistance to 100 meters.
The black dial is clean, legible, and highly luminous, featuring applied 18k yellow gold hour markers, white text, and Mercedes-style hands with Chromalight luminescence. The 24-hour GMT hand, finished in yellow to match the case accents, allows travelers to track a second time zone with ease, working in conjunction with the rotating bezel.
Powered by the reliable Caliber 3186 automatic movement, the 166713 features a jumping hour hand, allowing for independent adjustment of local time without disrupting the second or GMT hands. The movement is COSC-certified and includes a Parachrom hairspring for enhanced resistance to shocks and magnetic fields.
The watch is fitted with a two-tone Oyster bracelet, constructed from brushed 904L stainless steel outer links and polished 18k yellow gold center links. A folding Oysterlock clasp with the Easylink extension system ensures comfort and security on the wrist.
